Harmony Health, PLLC Therapeutic Services [Harmony Health] is a behavioral health practice created to improve the mental health and overall well-being of those served. Harmony Health, PLLC Therapeutic Services’ mission is “To improve the quality of life for families through a holistic approach in mental and emotional wellness”.

Harmony Health Therapeutic Services’ philosophy is to recognize the client and natural supports as the experts. Our clinicians are professionals and serve as a guide and resource for the family as we partner on your healing journey. Harmony Health is both trauma-informed and healing centered. We believe in advocating for those we serve. Our perception is that families are not broken but are missing pieces to their puzzle. Harmony Health’s goal is to help them put the pieces back together again. Our agency is both Trauma Focused and Healing Centered. We aim to disrupt Oppression and the Stigma of Mental Health and Wellness by delivering services through a Social Justice, Resiliency and Collective Framework. This means that we operate from the perspective that Healing doesn't happen in Isolation, It happens within Community. So you don't just choose a therapist, you choose a family! Harmony Health’s staff is trained in the agency’s trauma informed treatment model, practices, philosophy, confidentiality policies. At Harmony Health, the culture is client centered. Our focus is on psycho-education as well as treatment, support and connecting to needed resources.

Isis "Momma Bey" Bey, LCSW, CCTP II, TTS

Momma Bey earned her Master's in Social Work at UNC Charlotte. She is a Nationally Certified Trauma Specialist. She is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy [TF-CBT] and is a National TF-CBT Supervisor. She is trained in EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy [ACT], Dialectical Behavioral Therapy [DBT], CBT and Somatic Experiencing. She is certified in Triple P Parenting, a Nationally Certified Gang Specialist and a Domestic Violence Specialist. She provides Clinical Supervision to NC Licensed Associate level Clinical social Workers. Momma Bey is a National Trainer, Keynote Speaker, Consultant Trainer and provides speaking engagements and presents at conferences. She is currently a PhD Student at her alma mater, UNC at Charlotte in the Public Health Sciences with a focus on Behavioral Health Sciences. For more info on her services click here.
Her experience in the clinical field includes but is not limited to Crisis Intervention, Assessment, Individual, Groups, Couples/Family Counseling, and Trauma. She also has practice experience using Mindfulness, Somatic Experience, Spiritual Social Work, African Drumming and Dance as a therapeutic tool. Ms. Bey has experience in the Education, Criminal Justice and Child Welfare Systems. As an adjunct professor, Ms. Bey has taught courses that include Group Therapy Advanced Practice, Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Interpersonal Skills, Trauma and Social Work Practice, Generalist Social Work Practice, Social Work Ethics, Advanced Level Practice, Field Instruction and more.
Ms. Bey offers treatment, training and supervision through an Eclectic Humanistic Social Justice Approach, which is a person-centered, strengths-based, anti-racist and resilience-based approach. The belief is that the participant is the expert of his or her life experiences. Ms. Bey is a partner that guides and coaches in the treatment or learning process, offering tools, feedback, resources, experiential learning, skills and techniques to assist the individual in the healing or learning process, and uses treatment modalities that are trauma-informed, anti-racist, healing centered and evidence- based. Momma Bey accepts clients on a limited basis, she provides training, consulting, supervision and program development.

Sis Sharisse "Reesie Cup" McGill, LCSW

Ms. McGill is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She completed her Master’s of Social Work at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX. She serves Harmony Health in New Hire Orientation, Credentialing, and Intern Supervision in addition to seeing a limited number of clients. As a certified Grief Therapist, she offers therapeutic groups, training and workshops. Ms. McGill utilizes an eclectic, humanistic approach which aligns with the Harmony Health’s philosophy recognizing the client and natural supports as the expert. Risse is Trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy [TFCBT] and is a Certified Triple P Parenting Provider. She is a certified Grief Counselor. She works with families encountering trauma, grief, domestic violence, and other mental health conditions. Her experience includes assessment, treatment planning, individual therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, grief, case management, and trauma informed care. Risse is a psychodrama therapist and the Creator of the Kuumba Youth Theater.
Risse has a strong passion for guiding others through healing process. She has a natural charm that instantly allows others to feel “safe”. She loves spending time with her large family, baking, reading, and any activity that allows her to bask in nature’s glory with her bare feet on the earth. She sees a limited number of clients.

Aunty Dr, Charlene Whitaker-Brown, PMHNP

Dr. Whitaker-Brown is the founder and owner of MindHeart Institute and Wellness PLLC. With over 20 years of experience in healthcare, she is a Clinical Associate professor in the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is dual certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner(PMHNP).
Dr. Whitaker-Brown received her Post Doctorate Degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has experience with treating heart failure patients in both the acute and outpatient settings. Her mental health experiences include psychological assessments and diagnosis for patients offering prescription and medication management. Most recently, she has worked with adolescents, adults, transgender and gender non-binary individuals supporting their healing in disordered eating behaviors.
Dr. Whitaker-Brown’s program of scholarship is devoted to translating research into practice. Her primary focus is on chronic diseases, specifically cardiovascular diseases related to heart failure patients and mental health. She serves Harmony Health as our Medical Director. MindHeart Institute and Wellness PLLC is now housed at Harmony. Families can obtain Psychiatric and Medication Management Services through MindHeart.

Indiana Torres is a U.S Navy veteran and a Bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She completed her Master's of Social Work at the University of North Carolina Charlotte in Charlotte, NC. Indiana utilizes an integrative approach in practice which allows the flexibility to tailor the therapeutic experience to the individual needs and style of each person we serve. Indiana is a Trauma informed therapist and certified in Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress, Problematic Sexual Behavior in adolescence, Financial Social Work, Brainspotting, and as a Triple P parenting provider.
Indiana brings a unique perspective and unwavering dedication to those we serve. Her passion for helping others shines through in every interaction, as she is committed to helping others to overcome challenges and achieve their fullest potential. Indiana's experiences include working with undocumented and refugee populations, community outreach, social justice, advocacy, trauma informed care, case management, assessment, treatment planning, Individual and Group therapy, and working in school settings. Indiana currently serves clients ages 6-24 years old. She will be accepting clients by the end of July when HH reopens and accepts clients!

Bro Ty'kei [Ty] Spinks, LCMHCA

A Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, Ty’Kei graduated in with his Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. He has over 4 years working with individuals and families. His experience includes: Mental Health, Domestic Violence, Case Management, Advocacy, Gender Equality, Sexual Trauma Support, and Mentoring. His clinical experience includes: Assessment, Crisis Intervention, Individual Therapy, and Group Therapy, working with children and young adults. He currently serves family members ages 13 and up.
Ty’Kei uses a Person-Centered approach that incorporates strength building, increasing self-awareness, promoting self-enlightenment, and building healthy relationships. He believes that each individual is uniquely different. He is a trained facilitator in The Live Respect Healthy Masculinity Curriculum. He offers speaking engagements regarding mental health and men in mental health. He is an advocate for mental health as well as racial equality, gender equality, and eliminating the mental health stigmas in the Black community. Ty'Kei enjoys addressing these community issues through his weekly Podcast.

Sis Oreia Little, LCSWA

Oreia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. She graduated from the Joint Masters of Social Work program with University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina A&T State University. She received her BSW with a minor in psychology, from Winthrop University. Oreia is passionate about helping individuals become the best version of themselves. She has a passion for working with individuals dealing with both mental health and substance use and dependency. She enjoys working with children and adults. She is known to be a down-to-earth, outgoing, reliable, and trustworthy individual. She is an advocate for equality and equity for all vulnerable populations. She serves clients ages 5 and over. She will be accepting clients in early August.

Sis Alexis "Lex" Hall, LCSWA, TTS

Lex joins Harmony Health as an Outpatient Therapist And FT Wellness Provider. Alexis Hall graduated from Winthrop University with her Master's of Social Work and is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. She received her Bachelor's degree at UNC Chapel Hill in Athletic Training and Psychology. Alexis completed Child Adolescent and Family Behavioral Health Fellowship through the Foundation for Health Leadership with Harmony Health. She utilizes these skills by serving Adolescent Clients in the HH family. Lex has experience in clinical assessment, individual and group therapy. She is a trained facilitator in The Live Respect Healthy Masculinity Curriculum. She is trained and Certified as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist and offers individual and group treatment for adults and adolescents. She utilizes movement and other holistic healing methods in her therapeutic work with clients. Alexis has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She enjoys time with friends and family, teaching dance and performing in her community. She is accepting clients for Mental Health services. Sis Mary "ML" Stemkowski, LCSWA

ML is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. She graduated with her Masters in Social Work from Winthrop University. ML has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She has experience in assessments, intake, case management, individual and family therapy within community and out patient settings. She has experience in Family Centered Treatment. She integrates a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy [DBT] approach incorporating movement, art, breath work, meditation, and mindfulness into her sessions to help connect the mind and body. Mary is trained in N-O-T, a tobacco cessation curriculum for adolescents and offers virtual groups. She is currently accepting family members virtually ages 10 and up. She is almost done with her 200 hour- Yoga Teacher Training course and is excited to continue her training with a focus on trauma in the body. ML enjoys being out in nature with her dog, yoga, traveling, and making pottery when she is not working.

"Stackhouse" as she prefers to be called, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. She gratuated from Johnson C Smith Univerisity with her Master's in Social Work. She enjoys working with teenagers and adults ages 15 and older. Stackhouse uses a solution-focused, strengths-based approach, and believes that all people have the capacity to create and sustain positive change within themselves. She believes compassion, client-centered, and meeting families where they are is key to a successful therapeutic relationship. She strives to help families regain a positive quality of life, as well as assist rebuilding piecing to their puzzle. Through assessment, individual and group work, she uses different treatment modalities that are trauma informed and evidenced based. Stackhouse enjoys spending time with family, traveling and reading.

Sis Tammie Elliott

Tammie received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from New Jersey State University, and relocated to North Carolina where she earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Johnson C. Smith University. Tammie was motivated to join the helping and healing profession after watching family and friends struggle with poor mental health and substance dependency as well as addressing her own mental health needs. Tammie has 9 years of experience in the human service field, providing services to youth and adults in outpatient, inpatient, residential, and hospital settings. Repeatedly Tammie had been recognized for excellence in leading programs, service implementation and supportive counseling. Tammie is also a firm believer of breaking generational curses while providing continued support in communities of color. Tammie has organized and moderated symposiums that focused on the importance of mental health within African American communities in efforts to end stigma. She enjoys spending time with family, cooking, painting, and attending live music events.

Sis India Muñoz, BS

India is pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health at Walden University. India is originally from New York City and has always had a passion for psychology, learning about mental health, helping others, and women empowerment. She is a published author of two self-esteem-building books and has also served in the U.S. Army as an active-duty soldier. Prior to being honorably discharged, India worked as a weapons and supply specialist who lived and traveled extensively around the globe, including Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Dubai working with people of multiple backgrounds; including learning Arabic. She’s served as a personal mentor for women, helping them to begin their podcasts, write and publish books, and move on from break-ups. India is sincere and committed to working with the LGBTQ+ community, women, and children experiencing (but not limited to) career counseling, trauma processing, anxiety, and depression. She looks forward to providing services through our Community Connections program.

Sandra [San] Maldonado, TTS
Wellness and Administrative Director Helper and Healer
Helping and Healing Specialties: Reiki Master and Crystal Healer, Tobacco Treatment Specialist, Parenting Specialist
Ms. Sandra "San" Maldonado joined Harmony Health as a wellness provider and administrative director. She assists families in ensuring their claims are filed, provides billing support and oversees administrative functions at the house. She is the owner of Crystals and Thingz and shares her passion in the healing arts and partnering in our trauma work offering a holistic experience. She is a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist providing Tobacco Recovery Services in English and Spanish. She is also certified in Triple P Positive Parenting and offers services in English and Spanish.
As a Certified Reiki Master and Certified Crystal Healer, she provides unconditional compassion to all who seek it. She completed her training at The International Center for Reiki Training at the Master Level of Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Ryoho I, II and III degrees. She has worked in the Energy Work with children, adolescents, and adults. Ms. Maldonado’s experience in this field includes, but is not limited to working primarily with individuals coping with anxiety, stress, and depression.

Alexis "Lex" Hall, BS, TTS

As a Wellness provider, she is a Reiki II practitioner, a 200 hour Certified Yoga Instructor, and Dance Instructor. Alexis has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She offers community tobacco cessation groups for adolescents. She also provides workshops for Meditation, Yoga and Movement for Organizations, Corporations or your Community Group. She is the founder and owner of Move to Heal, LLC, which is a holistic wellness organization that provides chakra guided yoga flows, meditations, and wellness tips for the community. She is accepting HH Wellness clients at this time.

Taj Collins serves Harmony Health as our Intake Coordinator. Taj is a proud native of
Buffalo, NY where he and his family relocated to join the Charlotte, NC community to continue serving individuals, children, and families. He is a certified as a Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. He is a trained facilitator in The Live Respect Healthy Masculinity Curriculum and offers groups for our community. Mr. Collins has over 15 years of experience serving in health care, administration, education, and community-based services.
Taj is a servant-leader who has a special affection for initiating and maintaining harmonious
relationships with people from all walks of life. Taj believes that healthy relationships is one of
the highest forms of currency and healthy relationships begin with healthy people. His goal is to
help others be successful as defined by them. Taj enjoys reading, writing, traveling, listening to
jazz with a hot cup of coffee, occasionally blogging about the “Golden Era of Hip Hop culture/
music, and spending intentional time with his lovely family.

Marsha Laguerre, MS
Business Manager
Mrs. Laguerre has an MBA in Accounting from Rutgers University. She has over 15 years of experience working as an Accountant and Auditor at various accounting firms and in the private industry. Her experience includes internal audit for financial institutions, nonprofit audit and 401k plan audits. She manages general accounting and other business operations for the Harmony Health Family; helping to keep our business practices healthy and compliant. Marsha enjoys traveling to different states and countries; exposing herself to different experiences. Marsha is also an avid reader, who enjoys reading fiction novels.
